You know you are an adoptive parent WHEN.....

1. The fact that there are 143 million children without a parent to kiss them goodnight has made you lose sleep.

2. You realize DNA has nothing to do with love and family.

3. You can't watch Adoption Stories on TLC without sobbing.

4. The fact that, if 7% of Christians adopted 1 child there would be no orphans in the world, is convicting to you.

5. You spend free time surfing blogs about families who have experienced the blessing of adoption.

6. It drives you crazy when people ask you about your adopted child's "real" parents.

7. You have ever been "pregnant" with your adoptive child longer than it takes an elephant to give birth.

8. You had no idea how you would afford to adopt but stepped out in faith anyway, knowing where God calls you He will provide.

9. You have ever taken an airplane ride half-way around the world with a child you just met.

10. You believe God's heart is for adoption.

11. You realize that welcoming a child into your heart and family is one of the most important legacies you could ever leave on this earth.

12. You know what the word "Dossier" means, and you can actually pronounce it!

13. You have welcomed a social worker into the most private parts of your life.

14. You shudder when people say your child is so lucky that you adopted them, knowing full well you are the blessed one to have him or her in your life.

Read this today, and touched my heart. Hope it touches yours too. Love - K.

Happy 2 Months!

Precious Caleb is now 2 months old! What a fun month we have had! Including his first (& hopefully last for a loooong time) trip to the ER. Without further ado here are his stats and a few pics.....

He got a cool new hat!

He enjoyed lots of hugs with Sissy.

He crashed a Thursday night dinner with Grandma & Sis

He visited Grandma's classroom and she taught him math :)

He had plenty of smiles for Mommy & Daddy

He fell in love with his new seat, The Nap Nanny

He spent a few hours at the hospital when the pediatrician sent him for a few additional tests. Thank God it was only a cold and nothing more serious! Couple of days of Tylenol and lots of hugs and kisses and he is good as new! But this was a scary time for Mommy & Daddy!!

He worked on his sneaky faces!

And he found his thumb. And he loves it.

Weight - 11lbs 3/4 oz

Length - 22 in

Sleep - from 9pm-1am, then every 2 hours

Food - Anywhere between 2-4 ounces, depends on the mood lol He is still a grazer sometimes!

Accomplishments - first real laugh (and we caught it on tape!!), doing great on head control, lights up an entire room with his smiles, recognizes Mommy, Daddy, Sissy, and Grandma voices and follows us around the room with his eyes.

One great thing about him being a little older is he has finally gotten on a normal schedule for going potty! That sure makes for a happy baby!

Oh my sweet baby boy, I love you more than words could ever express. When you cry for me in the middle of the night and I say your name, the smile you give me melts my heart. You are building trust for us and I know you are comfortable in our home. You may not have heard our voices or smelled our smell for 9 months, but you know who we are and you are comforted by our touch, smell, and voice. I'm excited that your are growing and are so healthy but saddened that I already have a bag of clothes that you have outgrown. Watching you fall asleep is one of my most favorite things to do. Your cheeks are irresistible and I can't give you enough kisses. I love the way you "talk" to us and respond when we play. I love your long dark lashes and dreamy chocolate brown eyes. I love you baby boy and I am so happy God gave us you.
